Brainiac Intermediate Addition
Have
you wanted to have all of the grade seven curricular in one simple
game but you also wanted to have fun well then here you go. Me and my
friends Arly and Erin were working very hard to come up with the perfect
idea, and then we got it. (with
a little help from our teacher) We had come up with the amazing idea to
make a game board about the grade seven curricular. Here are the steps,
on how we finally created this amazing product.
First we had to figure out what we were gonna do, and with
help from our teacher we decided to make a board game. But then we need
to base it on something so we started thinking and we decided since we
are doing this project for school and we were in grade 7 we based it on
the grade 7 curriculum. Now that we have chosen a topic we need to start
the designing, figuring out how it’s played and assigning each other to
do something. So here is how it works, you have to go around the board
and answer questions in each room to collect a token and whomever makes
it to the start/finish first with all the required tokens wins!
Next we need to figure out who was doing what things, so I got
assigned to make/design the game board, Erin was assigned to make all
the questions for each category, and Arly was going to find and make
riddles for the detention room and hall pass cards. Then when all of
that was done we need to write out all the questions on the cards and
colour code them, and then we needed to colour the game board. After
that it was time to make the tokens for each room and then I was in
charge of writing out the instructions, in English and in French.
I really loved doing this project because it gives you some
free choice and i really think that you work better when you get to
something of your choice, and i think the game board was a great idea,
it was fun to make. Some challenges that we faced were trying to agree
on what we were doing, and with the cards because we messed up on a lot
of cards so we had to start over.
The game board is awesome! The detention cards and hall-pass cards and the whole game is really creative!!

ReplyDeleteRobyn, you did a nice job of explaining the process of creating the final product for the assignment. I also appreciated that you did put some reflective elements in it, and while you didn't have any suggestions for changing the assignment in the future, you were able to suggest things you might change if you were to build a game or do some other kind of similar project down the road. Overall, a great final product, and it sounds like a real team effort. MrB
